Avalanche Studios New York is looking for an experienced video editor (Contractor) who can capture game footage and edit high quality video game trailers. This candidate will have experience with both trailer and marketing videos. This position involves capturing footage alone or in a team, and editing high quality material.

As a storyteller, you excel at finding and communicating tone and narrative, and will act as director and cinematographer, both independently and in collaboration. A love of games is required. Bonus points if you love the open-world action genre!

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create game trailers and other marketing videos based on in-game materials.

• Edit high-end marketing materials in a supervised and unsupervised capacity.

• Develop concepts and work with the relevant game directors

• Organize and categorize gameplay footage for archiving

• Interact with the development team to capture footage from development builds

• Ensure footage is free of any strange visual artifacts or bugs

• Choreograph in-game gameplay scenarios to capture and then edit in a video asset

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of editing experience.

• Fluency in editing and digital motion graphics

• Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator).

• Experience in game engines.SKILLS

• Keen interest and knowledge of video games.

• Ability to take direction when required or work autonomously

• Ability to capture in-game footage

• Communicative and reliably meets deadlines

• Familiarity with pre-production, production, and post-production
