Your Mission
This new position will be responsible for developing and embedding Blizzard’s culture strategy, ensuring that it is fully aligned to our purpose, brand, and values that make Blizzard a great place to work and a destination employer! You will have an influential background in Human Resources, D&I and/or L&D and showcase an excellent skillset in setting strategy, measuring, assessing and improving cultural (both internal and external) and employee engagement. You will have an in-depth and honest understanding of what the culture is currently and a clear direction of where it needs to go. You are responsible for helping to shape a culture that creates positivity in the workplace and drives engagement, retention and innovation across Blizzard.
You’re Excited About This Opportunity Because You Will
- Set the overall roadmap for the Blizzard culture; who do we want to be, how do we learn from the past and re-invigorate the company for the future and then translate this vision into a road map of practical actions to drive the cultural agenda forward
- Integrate overall culture vision into the DEI roadmap and action plan, communication plans and company messaging.
- Create the vision and associated assets on which we base both our employee value proposition and external employer brand
- Work with the Franchise People Officers for the game development teams to help them develop complimentary cultures within their games teams that improve our ability to work as a cohesive unit and yet celebrate diversity and uniqueness of each franchise team
- Help shape our approach to employee surveys enterprise wide, ensuring the resulting insights enables leadership to make recommendations to shape our business strategy and decisions
- Own the Blizzard employee survey operation and consolidation of messaging and reporting and assist with associated action plans
- Partner to help build the learning and development function for Blizzard to deliver the desired capabilities and behaviors that drive our culture .
- Establish Blizzard and our franchises as a destination employer for the world’s best creative, technical, and business talent
- Partner with the Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer and Blizzard Diversity Officer to execute on our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion priorities and drive related initiatives that make Blizzard an even better place for everybody to work
Year 1 Success
- We have relaunched the Blizzard culture and refreshed our values resulting in a positive impact in internal and external sentiment.
- Blizzard Executive Leadership team is active in promoting and modelling that culture and the cultures of the core franchises.
- We have a significant increase in key employee survey scores such as belief in the long-term future of the company, engagement and inclusion that has translated into improved retention.
- Our external brand perception has improved.
- Our internal teams on Comms, Employer Brand, Employee Events and the Franchise People Officers are working cohesively to the overall Cultural roadmap.
Player Profile
This successful leader must possess unquestionable character and absolute integrity. S/he will be a proven leader with a blend of superior strategic, operational and leadership skills continuously applied to improve the company’s culture. Additionally, s/he should possess exceptional attention to detail, strong initiative and critical thinking skills while serving as a hands-on leader and collaborator.
Specific requirements include:
- 15+ years’ experience in human resources, D&I and/or L&D with substantial experience in the diagnosing, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating of enterprise-wide strategic culture and engagement strategies, solutions and interventions
- Substantial experience in driving culture transformation and all the systemic elements that form part of change across a large, complex and global businesses
- A master of Collaboration with the ability to rally support across the enterprise to the cultural agenda and unleash the power of alignment.
- Subject matter expert in culture and engagement
- Successful track record of effectively managing complex internal relationships.
- Proven ability to drive through influence in matrixed environments. Independent-minded yet open, direct, informative, collaborative with the right level of diplomacy.
- Outstanding leadership skills with a history of recruiting and developing best-in-class teams and a reputation as an inspiring and motivational leader
- Superior communication skills – verbal and written, effective at Board and executive leadership levels and the cultural sensitivity to work well with a diverse group of colleagues
- Hands-on, entrepreneurial style with a strong bias for action and results; thrives in unstructured environments with a focus on innovation; collaborative and without ego
