Summary

What You'll Do

Role Responsibility:

• Identify, develop and execute, in conjunction with key stakeholders, an innovation strategy and roadmap aligned to Aristocrat’s overall business strategy.
• Carry out market research and market entry feasibility studies, in support of the assessment of potential innovation.
• Manage a balanced portfolio of innovation projects and experiments that span sustaining and disruptive initiatives focused on product, services and business model innovations.
• In collaboration with the Company’s Intellectual Property Team, undertake searching of public patent documents, and existing technology, in support of the assessment of the originality of the innovation and its potential.
• Work closely with the commercial and development teams to create viable development and commercialization strategies for mature innovations as applicable.
• Promote Aristocrat’s innovation agenda; influence and obtain support from stakeholders and the Executive Steering Committee (ESC) for successful execution of the agenda.
• Develop and maintain strong ties with teams; educate and train teams on new solutions and innovations; drive innovation presentations and innovation sessions.
• Act as the innovation champion for the entire Land-Based gaming organization and promote company-wide participation in the creation and protection of standard practices.
• Ensure timely, successful commercialization of innovation initiatives.
• Track and report on innovation metrics and business impact on a regular basis.
• Establish the Land-Based gaming business as a recognized innovation leader among customer and industry groups to build brand and attract and retain top talent.
• Identify external assets and companies that may accelerate innovation and market access through partnerships and acquisitions.
• Help to engender a culture of innovation and intellectual property awareness across the Land-Based gaming business.

• A clear innovation strategy exists for the Land-Based Gaming Business.
• The innovation strategy is endorsed by key stakeholders, including executive leadership.
• A well-balanced innovation portfolio and roadmap exist that drives investment.
• The innovation portfolio and roadmap are aligned to the innovation strategy and support the overall business strategy.
• The innovation portfolio can be clearly linked to benefits deemed valuable (new revenue, learnings, new capabilities, etc.).
• The Land-Based Business is successful in taking its innovations to market in a timely and scalable manner.
• The Land-Based Business has a thriving innovation culture that nurtures and promotes ideas from across the entire global organization
• The Land-Based Business is seen as innovative both internally and externally

What We're Looking For

Requirements, Experience & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field or its equivalent preferred
• 15+ years of gaming experience in product management, market research, sales, customer engagement and project/program management. 5+ of those years in innovation, technology or solutions development.
• Deep understanding of significant aspects of land based gaming technology, business models and regulatory environment.
• Experience in using insights and analysis of competitor activity to generate strategic approaches and using insight and evidence to influence organizational direction.
• Significant experience in management, prioritization, balancing competing demands and delivering in line with objectives and quality.
• Experience and awareness of governance, financial management and risk management.
• Experience developing and maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders.
• Proactive and able to work in a strategic direction.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability lead through influence and motivate others to deliver.
• Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be able to travel up to 20 percent.
