What We Need:
This. Job. Is. Fun. You’ll get to invent and deploy pretty much every vehicle you can think as a key part of the game experience in the most legendary games in the world. We are seeking an outstanding senior engineer to own the implementations of new and existing physics simulations for vehicles in NBA 2K. This role is seated in our Novato, CA studio, and works under the supervision of the Park/Open World Lead.
What You Will Do:
- Collaborate with producers to create and realize simulated physics for multiple vehicle types, along with collision response
- Design, build and implement vehicle control systems
- Prototype, test, and deploy a new vehicle framework in C++
- Functionally manage a small team of engineers’ vehicle work
- Work with production on feedback loops for new models and controls
- Own the final outcomes for implementation details
- Advise junior engineers on standard methodologies
Who Will Be a Great Fit:
- 5+ years programming commercial projects in C++
- Advanced physics knowledge, particularly in vehicles and collisions
- Experience creating vehicle simulations (cars, hoverboards, jetpacks, skateboards, bmx bikes… whatever it is you want to add!)
- Stays ahead of the latest trends in gaming technology
- Strong math skills
- A passion for games (not just ours!)
