Vehicle Physics Designer (onsite/remote)

Role description:
We are focused on creating a state-of-the-art, real-time, soft-body physics engine and making it widely available for entertainment and simulation purposes. Our most widely known product is our game BeamNG.drive, which is now available on Steam in Early Access.
In order to support our ongoing development plans, we are seeking an experienced Game Vehicle Physics Designer with a passion for automobiles and simulation who can work independently, and be entrusted with long-term development projects.
Responsibilities
- Support in creating functional and realistic physics structures for the vehicle simulation
- Research in the field of simulated vehicle development
- Collaborate with the vehicle art team to ensure cohesion of the physical and visual aspects of the simulated vehicles
- Maintain documentation regarding configurations, operations, and troubleshooting procedures
- Interact with the community, play the game, and give feedback to the rest of the team
- Collaborate with the development/ production team to make sure the release process goes smoothly
Requirements
- Passion for automotive topics such as design, motorsport, modification, sim-racing, tires, suspension geometry, calibration, simulations, mechanics, or engineering
- Modding experience, with emphasis on vehicle games/simulators
- Hands-on automotive experience, from driving, mechanical repairs or modifications
- Creative thinking and the ability to come up with unique solutions (find new ways to improve our product, new structure creation, new vehicle types, or new methods to validate the simulation)
- Motivated to think critically and able to solve problems in a complex development environment
- Communicate and express your ideas & thoughts to other teams and stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills in English (Oral and written)
- Desire to learn, and enjoy the fun challenges of our unique physics engine simulation game: like us
Nice to have
- Experience in doing some coding in any language
- Modding experience with emphasis on vehicle games/simulators OR in BeamNG.drive
- Hands-on automotive experience, from driving, mechanical repairs or modifications
- Good 3d Art or CAD skills with emphasis on hard surface modeling
