Vehicle Concept Artist

Job Overview

We are searching for a highly skilled Vehicle Concept Artist to join our game development team. As a Vehicle Concept Artist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity of our AAA game projects by designing unique and realistic vehicles. Your creative expertise will bring these vehicles to life in our game worlds. You will collaborate closely with the Art Director, designers, the 3D modeling team, and the Vehicle Supervisor to ensure the successful integration of vehicles into our realistic settings. The ideal candidate will have an impressive portfolio demonstrating exceptional vehicle design skills, with a particular focus on realistic settings.

What will you do?

• Collaborate with the Art Director, game designers, narrative team, and Vehicle Supervisor to understand the visual and functional requirements of vehicles in our realistic AAA game settings.
• Create high-quality concept art and designs for vehicles, ensuring they align with the game's artistic vision and authenticity.
• Develop detailed sketches, illustrations, and renderings that effectively communicate the form, functionality, and unique qualities of each vehicle.
• Work closely with the 3D modeling and texturing teams to ensure a seamless translation of vehicle designs into realistic and high-fidelity in-game assets.
• Iterate on vehicle designs based on feedback from stakeholders, ensuring they align with the game's artistic vision and technical constraints.
• Provide guidance, documentation, and support to production artists to maintain visual consistency across the vehicle designs in our realistic settings.
• Stay updated on industry trends, vehicle design techniques, and relevant art styles within the context of AAA game development.

What are we looking for?

• A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional vehicle design skills, with a focus on realistic settings within AAA games.
• Proficiency in digital art software and tools, such as Photoshop, Procreate, or similar applications.
• A solid understanding of vehicle design principles, including form, functionality, and attention to realistic detail.
• The ability to create visually appealing and authentic vehicle designs that align with the game's artistic direction and target audience.
• Knowledge of 3D modeling and texturing processes to ensure vehicle designs effectively translate into in-game assets.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other artists and designers, including the Vehicle Supervisor.
• A proactive approach to research and staying updated on industry trends, vehicle design techniques, and new tools specific to realistic vehicle design.
• A passion for video games and a deep understanding of how vehicles contribute to the immersive and authentic experience of the game world.
• An art background is required, and an industrial design background is highly desirable.

The salary range for this position is 2750–4500 € (gross) per month.
