VP of Operations / Finance

Carry1st is Africa’s leading publisher of mobile games and digital content. Operating at the intersection of games, fintech, and web3, we scale awesome content in underserved frontier markets. Carry1st has a proprietary payments and ecommerce platform which allows players to acquire global content using locally-accessible payment methods. As a VP of Operations / Finance, you will be responsible for overseeing all business operations, corporate strategy, and finance. You will craft and implement systems to effectively scale a global multi-product software business and a fully-remote team spanning 20+ countries. This role is intentionally broad, positioned for a multifaceted generalist or specialist looking to broaden their horizons.

You will…

• Define the strategy for resourcing / scaling our enterprise functions (talent, ops, finance, legal)
  
• Recruit and manage senior functional leaders with deep domain expertise
• Ensure timely and effective financial reporting, business intelligence, and treasury management
• Develop a high-capacity talent function with scalable recruiting, onboarding, and team management
• Lead organic market expansion while supporting fundraising and M&A

Requirements

What makes you a great candidate?

• 8+ years of overall experience in strategy, operations, finance, or related roles
  
• Experience working for a top investment bank, consulting firm, or technology firm
• Experience scaling a high-growth startup in gaming, fintech, web3, or ecommerce
• Strong working knowledge of corporate finance and financial accounting principles
• Ability to effectively recruit, onboard, and manage high-potential functional leaders
• Interest or direct experience building businesses in frontier markets
• Bonus: love of games (of any kind) and empathy for gamers
