Osmo is an award-winning accelerated learning system that changes the way children interact with games. Osmo games combine physical interactions with digital experiences to make learning fun.
Osmo was recently acquired by Byju’s, a highly successful company focused on making learning fun. This puts Osmo in a unique position, still acting as a small company, but with the backing and resources of a much larger one. Byju’s has recently raised $540 million, and was valued at over $10.5 billion.
We are looking for an experienced studio lead to run and scale up game studios and content creation. Osmo has created an innovative platform for learning through play, by combining digital and physical interactions. This calls for a new way to build games and interactive content, to engage and teach kids.
In this role you will be responsible for managing and scaling game studios worldwide in order to produce high quality original content under strict timelines. You will hire and nurture small teams of incredibly creative people to create products that both kids and parents love, and achieve strong market fit.
This is a VP-level position, where you will be expected to also play a part in developing the team and the culture across all of Osmo, as well as collaborate tightly with the rest of the leadership team to deliver on the company goals.
Responsibilities
- Inspire the team to deliver the highest possible levels of engagement & learning outcomes
- Own overall resourcing and roadmap for all game studios
- Provide creative vision and strategy over both software and hardware interaction
- Grow and mentor a distributed team of game studios, both internal and external, in Palo Alto, Chile, Europe and India
- Collaborate tightly with other disciplines - marketing, hardware, sales, finance, etc. - to achieve the best possible outcome for the company
Requirements
- 5+ years as an executive producer / game studio director
- 15+ years of experience in either the gaming or learning industry.
- Deep understanding of the creative process and how to nurture a creative team while staying on budget/schedule
- Experience with deeply iterative, playtesting-base development
Nice to have
- Having launched multiple hit games for a young audience
- Experience with education and building games for kids 3-10 years old
- Experience building hardware
- Deep understanding of user research and what is needed to achieve product-market fit
