VP, Head of Animation

Rooster Teeth is looking for VP, Head of Production to lead the charge in our Austin, TX Animation studio. The ideal candidate will have a strong, leadership background in Animation, Studio Production and Business Operations. This individual will lead in the building, maintenance and supervision of two animation lines, Digital 2D and 3D CGI. This position is full-time and exempt.

Responsibilities:

Supervision of Pre-Production, Production, and Post Production
Overhead Studio Budget creation, tracking & reporting working with a production accountant & finance dept
Production budget creation, tracking & reporting, working with a production accountant & finance dept
Studio utilization: keeping the studio full with either original content or 3rd party production
Working with Legal: Supervision of all productions’ and studio business affairs- contracts, releases, insurance, payments and etc
Partner with Business units, Development and Creative Teams to ensure pipeline of work and steady production flows are established
Oversight on general good health and welfare of the animation studio staff

Qualifications:

BS or BA degree or equivalent practical experience15+ years of studio and production management experience in an animation studio
Basic knowledge of the Digital 2D animation pipeline both in-house and with an outsourcing to Asia, Canada or Europe.
Basic knowledge of the 3D CGI animation pipeline with an outsourcing to Asia, Canada or Europe.
Established relationships with international vendor animation studios
Familiarity with data management software and processes
Strong oral and written communication skills with high attention to detail
Ability to self-motivate and work independently.
Excellent organizational strategic aptitude
Proficiency with MS Office, Google suite and knowledge of Shotgun
