VP, Global Employee Relations (W/M/NB)

Job Description
The VP Global Employee Relations will oversee all related global employee relations policies, practices and process, the Employee Relations caseload, related assignments, and oversight of investigations. The VP Global Employee Relations will also provide consultation and collaboration with senior HRBP and business leaders. Serving as a primary point of contact for significant Employee Relations issues, the VP Global Employee Relations will coordinate with other HR functions to ensure cohesion with our practices, procedures, polices and processes. This is a new role within the organization and offers an exciting opportunity to build out a key function and be part of transforming the broader HR team.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring that the Code of Conduct and Ubisoft global HR policies are embedded in the Human Resources’ organization (process, systems and people)
- A driver of change – responsible for assessing current state and opportunities to improve the Employee Relations capability, processes and policies in studios and business entities globally; will work in partnership with relevant Human Resource Directors to plan and implement change
- Builds strong relationships with the Studio MDs and key creative talent in order to understand the specific context of game development and work to prevent and mitigate risks through coaching and other actions
- Acts as a consultant and educator to HR and line management on policy, processes and specific cases
- Responsible for proactive and preventative policy communications, education and training for HR and line management
- Develop new and innovative means to communicate with global employees on Employee Relations matters
- Proactively monitor the global social climate, supporting HR and business leaders in developing and maintaining an excellent relationships with their staff representatives and unions
Qualifications
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years of progressive global human resources experience; strong HR business partner with at least 5 years of specific employee relations experience required
- Knowledge and demonstrated application of international employment laws, regulations, and trends; working knowledge of French labor relations a plus
- Understanding of the gaming industry and the specific stages of game development strongly preferred – familiar with the challenges of gaming development and is able to demonstrate creative and collaborative ways to mitigate key risks with the business
- Experience building collaborative relationships across functions, disciplines and countries, in a multi-cultural and diverse work environment; adept at incorporating cultural perspectives
- Experience in and a commitment to incorporating employee engagement, diversity and inclusion and gender equality in all facets of work
Key Skills
- Ability to operate independently and manage significant activities and resources to produce and take responsibility for results; comfortable with navigating ambiguity
- Proven risk management mindset in resolving complex employee relations issues; ability to drive creative, holistic outcomes that balance employee and organizational interests
- Demonstrated excellence in writing and developing policies and procedures and the ability to
- lead presentations, training courses, and effective meetings, earning the trust of HR leaders
- Negotiation and creative conflict resolution
- Strong program management skills and experience in driving large change programs – building stakeholder buy-in and leading through influence
- Understanding of different employment law jurisdictions globally, with a strong knowledge basis for France a plus
- English and French business proficiency
