We are seeking an innovative Vice President, Global Analytics and Data Science for a hands-on role leading design, and execution of the Aristocrat insights and analytical strategy, including management of reporting, and data science. The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with the Chief Data and Analytics Officer, stakeholders, and senior business leaders throughout Aristocrat in defining, championing, and aligning the businesses’ needs with a compelling enterprise vision for data and analytics that facilitates better decision making as we transform and advance the design, develop, and build some of your very favorite digital casino games found in casinos and on mobile devices throughout the world.What You'll Do
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Build a reporting and analytics COE and a high performance, responsive team of data scientists and analysts able to gather and synthesize data quickly and accurately
- Support data informed decision making, for business unit leaders and stakeholders throughout the company
- Ensure data best practices and play a critical role in building a data driven culture at Aristocrat
- Be a thought leader and evangelist to drive adoption and knowledge at all levels of the organization
- Determine how to leverage data science, machine learning, AI (where applicable), and other analytical techniques to offer actionable insights both internally and externally
- Define and drive the strategy for tool investment, in partnership with the VP of Data Engineering and the CDAO
- Experience building predictive modelling, identifying patterns in historical data and customer journeys to predict outcomes, and make predictions from collected data. Proven track record in building similar models in the B2B or B2C space.
- Experience building consumer insights, and/or experience with building segmentation and personal models.
- Partner with the data engineering team, technology architects and software developers to empower lines of business with business intelligence and analytics.
What We're Looking For
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in data analysis, data science, quant and / or machine learning/AI with a deep understanding of data management practices and the data lifecycle
- Significant experience in planning, executing, and deploying high value data projects, analytics services and analytical platforms to global and cross functional users and business units
- Documented successes developing, implementing, and operating analytics and insights in a hybrid enterprise environment that blends on-prem and cloud data
- Prior documented success in the development of data warehousing tools including Google Cloud Datastore, Snowflake, Azure Athena, or GCP Big Query, is required
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, Qlik, Looker and / or Tableau
- Working knowledge of object-oriented programming languages PHP, Python and Java
- Must possess a flexible, confident, low-ego, highly collaborative executive presence, motivated by results, urgency, and personal commitment, and possessing high integrity and exceptional work ethic with a proven ability to influence without formal authority and achieve results through people
- Understands the link between excellence in data acquisition, warehousing, analytics and insights, and how to leverage this as a competitive advantage in the marketplace
- Excellent and proven project management skills
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Master’s or Ph.D. in mathematics, statistics, economics, or computer sciences focused on data analytics
- Experience with Athena or Big Query is preferred
- Experience in Apache Airflow is preferred
- Experience in Agile SDLC development methodologies are preferred
- Experience in gaming, content distribution, Media & Entertainment, or retail industry is preferred
