VFX Modelling supervisor

- 5+ Years understanding of the modelling process and the ability to both interpret designs and accurately match photographic reference material.
- Excellent Maya polygon and subdivision surface modelling skills and the ability to apply and manage UVs.
- experience using Autodesk Maya, Mari, Z-Brush, Mudbox, Photoshop
- Previous experience creating photorealistic organic and hard surface digital models.
- Good understanding of the visual effects pipeline from modelling through animation, texturing, and rendering.
- Ability to work well in a team and solve asset specific issues independently.
- Experience leading and training others.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- An organized and methodical approach to your work.
- Proactive nature with the ability to work on your own initiative.
- Previous experience leading a team is an asset
- Ability to motivate yourself and your colleagues in a high-pressure environment.
Requirements
- Should have worked on a number of High Quality gaming narratives like cinematic trailers Game Development, Game Asset Designs etc for the gaming industry.
- Should have an extensive knowledge of VFX and CG pipelines
- Work closely with the Modeling Supervisor to establish the modeling pipeline for the show.
- Lead a team of Modelers to assure the work meets a high-quality standard and is delivered on time.
- Create accurate digital assets from the supplied reference material and/or concept artwork.
- Apply and adjust UVs, working closely with texture artists to ensure UVs are positioned and scaled efficiently.
- Give direction and technical guidance to modelling team to maintain the required standard of work.
- Find creative solutions by drawing on your own talents and those of your team.
- Assist in shot allocation/assignment.
- Provide constructive feedback to the modelling team to enable them to move forward with their work.
- Work with animators and riggers to resolve technical issues and optimise assets for animation and liaise with Lighting TDs to ensure assets are optimized for render.
- should have a large body of short and long format VFX project experience across different types of projects.
- Thorough understanding of film production and on set experience is a must
- Exerpience with recruitment , training and suoervision of CG Modelers
- Working Knowledge of softwares like Nuke , Unity, Unreal engine, Houdini, Realflow, 3DS Max, etc
- Excellent project and management skills
- Ability to supervise and assign tasks to the modeling unit
- Should have experience leading a VFX production team
- work in conjunction with the senior Modeling supervisor.
