The Role @ Red Kite Games
Red Kite has a fantastic opportunity for a VFX artist to join our team. You will be influential in helping our studio develop an unannounced, high profile AAA single player first-person shooter, alongside supporting the development of our own original and innovative IP.
The ideal candidate will have a history of demonstrating an exceptional eye for detail, creative flair, stylistic versatility, and the ability to communicate and collaborate on artistic and technical aspects with other team disciplines.
In your new role you will:
- Work under direction to create stunning VFX, optimised per platform, across multiple titles and projects
- Be responsible for all aspects of the VFX pipeline, from initial concept to final in-game polish
- Collaborate with designers, artists, and programmers to design and implement VFX which enrich the game world and support gameplay requirements
- Contribute to new techniques and workflows through knowledge of current and emerging visual effect trends and technologies
- Want to work in-studio alongside a very social and close-knit team
To be successful you will have:
- Realtime VFX experience for video games
- Good understanding of real-time VFX authoring tools
- Experience with 3D packages for creating 3D assets
- Strong knowledge of Photoshop and AfterEffects
- Strong and demonstratable understanding of the principles of real-time VFX
- Unreal Engine experience (Niagara)
- A demo reel showcasing multiple styles
Experience in any of these areas will be advantageous but not essential:
- Prior console development experience
- Houdini experience
