VFX Artist

Sharkmob is looking for a VFX-artist, a master of creation when it comes to shiny real-time pixels and mesmerizing ka-pows!

You will be part of the Blood hunt team and add VFX for powers, in-world effects, UI, and any other place where VFX comes into play. Is there anything worse on earth than standing still in a game and nothing moves? Probably, but not that many! We want to fill the world with life and movement, and VFX is a big part of that!

Some would say that the Tech Art Team is the best team here at Sharkmob, especially if you ask the people on the team. Together we support artists and designers with implementing their vision and you will add your very own flair (or in some cases, flares) to the game. You will have a great deal of ownership and influence over the VFX in the game, and you will collaborate and compromise with other departments to reach the best solution possible. You will work closely with the design, concept and programming departments to figure out what we want to create and help realize any and all cool ideas that will improve the game.

Do you have other passions than VFX as well? No problem, here at Sharkmob we are big believers in shared ownership and having fun at work. So if you feel you can contribute in other areas as well, that is highly encouraged. In the tech art team, we are big believers in teamwork so we value team performance over individual performance and strive to work as effectively as a unit as possible.

Key qualifications:

• Experience with real-time VFX creation
• Unreal Engine experience
• Great communication skills
• A good ability to break down tasks and plan your work
• Comfortable exploring different options and doing a lot of technical problem-solving
• Solid understanding of shaders and how to set up shader networks to support your VFX

Who we are

Sharkmob was founded in 2017 and has offices in Malmö, Sweden, and London, UK. The studio develops AAA quality games for PC and console, using the Unreal Engine to power its ambitions of taking multiplayer games to new heights. Sharkmob is currently working on three major projects: Bloodhunt - a battle royale set in the Vampire: The Masquerade universe; and two proprietary, unannounced projects.
