Our small yet ambitious team is looking for a VFX Artist to join our crew. Do you like exploring new ideas? Leveling up your skills? Being a great teammate? Then read on!

We are looking for a talented and experienced VFX artist from Standard to Lead level to help develop the effects vision on a brand-new project. The primary work scope will involve developing a vision for our various VFX needs, helping guide internal and outsource artists. This includes a broad range of effects for characters, weapons, abilities, environments, and UI. Mentoring other artists and helping them level up their art skills is also an aspect. Lastly, a collaborative mindset with great communication skills are qualities we look for in a teammate who can help create a united vision for a project that can capture the fun and immersive standard that we hope to achieve with every Blizzard experience!

This role can potentially be either on location or remote.

COVID-19 Hiring Update: We’ve transitioned to a work-from-home model and we’re continuing to interview and hire during this time. This role is expected to begin as a remote position. We understand each person’s circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore possible interim options.

Responsibilities

• Experience crafting impressive, stylized real-time VFX assets for characters, environments, and UI elements.
• Proven ability to conjure incredible visuals while maintaining optimal game performance.
• Exceptional communication skills with a focus on design awareness and cross-discipline collaboration.
• A positive, highly self-motivated team player who’s able to provide and receive objective feedback.

Pluses

• Experience working in the Unity game engine.
• Experience with mobile game development
• Solid understanding of animation principals with a keen sense of timing.
• Experience with 3D modeling, texturing or rigging.
• Experience working with outsourcing studios
• Knowledge, understanding, and familiarity with Blizzard’s games and universes.
