This role will be based at our headquarters in Horsham, in the heart of West Sussex.In the role of VFX Artist you will create effects for an innovative console title and will have the opportunity to develop alongside some of the best creatives in the industry and shape the game.Flexible working at Creative Assembly includes hybrid, fully remote for eligible roles, and in-studio. Further details can be discussed during the recruitment process.Key ResponsibilitiesAs a VFX artist on the team, you will be creating high quality, performant visuals in line with art direction for the project.On a day-to-day basis, you will:Work with other project disciplines across the project to maintain an efficient pipelineBrainstorm and prototype new ideas and solutionsCollaborate with production, the project art leads and the wider team, communicating clearly in all directionsProduce high quality and performant visuals, as an integral part of the teamCommunicate well, with all disciplines, and be well organised.Knowledge, Skill and ExperienceEssentialAbility to create and implement world class VFXExcellent visual awareness and artistic abilityExperience of working in a professional creative environmentExcellent interpersonal skillsKnowledge of:Proprietary and off the shelf particle editorsParticle system terminology and applicationsPhotoshop and After EffectsDeveloped understanding of contemporary shader features and creation workflowStrong awareness of industry technology trends.DesirableKnowledge of UE4 and NiagaraKnowledge of EmbergenKnowledge of Houdini and its use in real-time game VFX.Note: Applications for this role must include a portfolio/showreel (or link to a portfolio/showreel).
