UI Artist (Contract)

WHO YOU ARE

We are seeking a a top-notch professional UI Artist (Contract) that can create illustrations and visual designs with a wide range of visualization skills and the ability to adapt to the unique artistic style of Guild Wars 2.

This position will involve working directly with the Lead UI/UX Designer to create illustrations and supporting visual content (such as icons) to deliver consistently great art at a regular pace for use as in game assets and promotional material. The ideal candidate is a great collaborator with strong artistic sensibilities who has experience creating concept art, practical 2D assets, or user interface art in a professional game development environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Create illustrations and supporting assets (such as icons) that feature and promote content in-game.
• Deliver high quality assets on a regular basis in a highly collaborative and creative environment.
• Use proprietary software tools to aid in the creation and delivery of game-ready artwork.
• Present work to the team and incorporate feedback.
• Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

• Strong illustration, graphic design, or painting skills.
• At least 6 years of experience in relevant art roles (concept art, graphic design, illustration, UI art)
• At least 4 years of experience in professional game development (or related software/web industry) roles.
• Highly proficient with Adobe Photoshop.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• An online portfolio showcasing your best work and your range of relevant skills.
• A passion for playing and creating video games.

PLUSES!

• Knowledge and experience playing Guild Wars 2, or relevant MMO titles.
• Experience creating artwork for Promotional or Commerce-related purposes.
• Experience and/or proficiency using 3D modeling tools.
• Familiarity with the pipeline and process of implementing art assets in game engines.

This is a 6 month remote contract position.
