UXUI PROGRAMMER INTERN
What You'll Do
As a Gameplay UI Engineering Intern on the Fortnite Battle Royale team, you will help bridge the gap between impactful new gameplay systems and the player experience. You will have opportunities to make meaningful contributions to the Fortnite UI and work with talented internal and external teams. You'll write features that bring to life UX designs and harden existing systems to ensure Fortnite is fun for as many players as possible.
In this role, you will
- Create and improve UI/UX for Fortnite gameplay HUD, map, inventory, and more
- Work closely with art and design to create and iterate on gameplay features, while maintaining strong architectural and algorithmic direction
- Optimize and fix bugs in existing systems
- Contribute ideas toward all aspects of the project’s production and development
- Write robust, maintainable code
What we're looking for
- Strong C++ skills
- A desire to develop strong software development skills
- Interest in gameplay UI programming and game engine technologies
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate competently in English
- A flexible approach to development and willingness to apply out-of-the-box thinking and approaches to rapidly evolving software
- Self-motivation, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently
- Strong teamwork and cross-discipline collaboration skills, including the ability to deliver and respond to constructive feedback
This internship has a flexible start date in 2025. Recruitment will be ongoing until teams find an ideal match.
