The Challenge
We are searching for a UK Indirect Tax Specialist to join our team in London!
Reporting to the Tax and Compliance Manager, a senior member of the Accounting Function expected to contribute to the overall success of and help in developing all areas of the Group Function.
The UK companies form a central part of T2’s global digital and physical business; and therefore has complex Indirect Tax obligations in multiple territories.
The Indirect Tax Manager will be responsible for Indirect tax compliance and accounting for UK based companies including managing all filings and deadlines and requirements associated with those; ensuring that all compliance is completed accurately and within the relevant legal requirements.
What You’ll Take On
- Responsible for UK and Overseas Indirect tax compliance and accounting for UK based companies including all filings and managing deadlines and requirements associated with those; ensuring that all compliance is completed accurately and within the relevant legal requirements.
- Responsible for Indirect tax compliance and accounting for UK based companies including all filings and managing deadlines and requirements associated with those.
- Submitting accurate and timely UK VAT returns for the UK companies as well as managing any associated payments, both POA’s and balancing payments.
- Form and maintain the wider UK VAT group, looking to include all UK T2 companies and add as and when necessary.
- Ensure all import and Export documentation requirements are met (with assistance of the Intl and local operations teams).
- Maintain T2’s “Low Risk” designation for VAT from HMRC through rigorous commitment to controls and continuous improvement.
- Responsible for UK companies non-UK Indirect tax compliance including filings / payments in international territories (Germany, Australia, Czech Republic, Japan, Singapore, Switzerland, Turkey).
- Work with external advisors / SDOF and US tax team to identify and implement any new Indirect tax registrations as required.
- Responsible for upkeep of the Risk and Control Matrix for Indirect tax.
Ensure that all controls in the RACM are adhered to and evidence is maintained to evidence this. - Develop a rotational testing regime for the VAT controls included in the RACM.
- Upkeep of the Indirect tax process notes across all areas of the business, including VAT return completion, AR and AP process notes and flows, always ensuring that these are in keeping with the actual processes.
- Take responsibility for ensuring all official VAT documentation requirements are met, Export risk areas as well as Import documentation requirements.
- Maintain current UK VAT technical knowledge to ensure that any new risks to the business is identified, escalated, and dealt with in an efficient and timely manner.
- Review new contracts for both customers and suppliers to ensure that the correct indirect tax treatment is being applied.
- First point of call for any indirect tax questions / queries from both the finance department and the broader business.
- Maintain the Indirect tax compliance calendar, ensuring all relevant dates and obligations contained therein are accurate.
- Foster and maintain close working relationships with external advisors, highlighting and help answer any queries.

Qualifications
- Qualified Accountant or in training;
- CTA or ATT (or equivalent) qualified or in training, or qualified by experience;
- 3-4 years of VAT specific experience;
- Good ERP systems and BI systems knowledge;
- Exceptional working knowledge of UK and EU VAT;
- Experience of VAT for Very Large groups, SOX, or Digital economy is desirable;
- Good working knowledge of statutory requirements.
