Job Description
Your main mission:
As a UI/UX Designer at Ubisoft, you will be working directly under the UX Director and alongside the User Interface team & the Game Design team, translating the game experience needs in highly functional, up to date with industry standards, usable, and accessible screens, visual assets, and flows. Your knowledge of player psychology and behaviors will make you interact on a daily basis with the Game Design team in order to create frictionless, tailored experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Understand the players target, game direction, design needs, and technical constraints of the game in order to translate them into consistent, engaging, player-driven experience;
- Initiate and drive design processes and methodologies helping the development teams achieve strong user-centric approaches, and create the necessary prototypes and documentation: wireframes, user-stories, player motivations and needs, flows, storyboards, etc;
- Autonomously produce high quality deliverable, up to the industry standards, in line with said player experience;
- Become the champion of the usability and accessibility in the game, and more globally represent the end-player in every aspect of the production;
- Follow up with the different design departments to ensure a smooth implementation of the validated designs;
- Able to work alongside the User Research, Marketing and Data teams to validate designs and foresee problems prior to launch, and maintain and evolve the game in a Live environment;
- Maintain quality, efficiency and consistency across your work.
Qualifications
What you'll bring as experience:
- Video-gaming culture and interest in video-games development;
- Relevant experience in a UI/UX/graphic design role (portfolio needed);
- Prior knowledge and interest in user-centric design, usability, interaction design, player behavior and psychology, and design patterns;
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator or other visual design tools;
- Proficiency in Adobe XD/Sketch/Figma or other prototyping tools;
- Good artistic skills (proportion, composition, color, etc.);
What you'll bring as a colleague:
- A keen eye for usability and clarity;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken;
- Up-to-date with the current design and typographical trends (will represent a plus);
- Interest & base knowledge in game design (will represent a plus).
