UI Designer

Job Title: UI Designer

Job Type: Full Time OR Contract

What We Need:

Turn Me Up is looking for a creative and dedicated UI Designer with 3+ years of game industry experience , specializing in UI/UX. This position will collaborate with Turn Me Up’s designers, artists, and engineers to create, polish, and implement in-game visuals, UI, & other graphic assets.

We are looking for someone who wants to lead the charge on ideas, further developing our stylization, and making the experience of our internal project something that feels unique.

NOTE: This position can be remote, but candidates that are eventually able to work in our office in Burbank, California are heavily preferred.

NOTE: This posting is open to either contract or full time.

Role expectations

• Create and implement UI for the internal IP and external titles, developing towards user experience & artistic vision
• Actively participate in the creation and implementation of iconography, game menus, HUD elements, game systems, UI animations, and motion design
• Create graphic design for external projects, as well as review outsource team materials and 3D animations
• Work collaboratively with engineering, art, design, design director and production to make high quality UI/UX experiences, ensuring consistency and quality
• Update the company website and video reel with new game releases
• Execute on deliverables to a high quality bar, work autonomously, tackling medium to complex tasks
• Review, refine, and reshape content in-game in the pursuit of improvement

What we're looking for

• 3-5 years game industry experience working on UI/UX, graphic design, and motion graphics
• Excellent foundational artistic knowledge with a strong portfolio showcasing a strong technical skill set and a creative eye for design
• Experience implementing UI in Unreal Engine or equivalent; basic knowledge of blueprints
• Familiarity with multiple platforms (mobile, PC, consoles)
  
• Proficiency with video editing
  
• Ability to work collaboratively with others on project goals, internally and externally
• Strong communication skills; positive and independent worker, always working to inspire those around you
• Proven ability to take action on feedback; seeking guidance and external resources to expand knowledge
• Ability to iterate on production needs with flexibility for urgent tasks and an understanding of how prioritize independently
• Passion for learning all disciplines of game development as they relate to UI & Graphic Design
• Passion for making and playing games
• Up to date with industry trends, letting it influence innovative ideas and solutions

Nice to Haves

• Knowledge & experience with foundational animation principals
• Experience with illustration, stylization, and visual story-telling
  

Software Knowledge Requirements:

• Adobe Suite, Figma, and/or comparable software
• Wix website builder and/or comparable software
• Unreal Engine

Application Requirements:

• Portfolio demonstrating relevant skills and past work
• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design (or related field) or 3+ years experience
• Ability to work on-site in Burbank, CA is a plus
