Position Purpose
Pipeworks Studios is looking for a meticulous UI/UX Artist that is curious about why people do what they do and loves to deliver good user experiences. This role will work within a team located on-site at our office in Eugene, OR and collaborate remotely with our partners at EA Tiburon. Come make your mark on one of the most popular video game franchises ever – Madden NFL!
Essential Job Functions
- Create pre-production art plans for new or existing UI
- Work with Design to translate product strategy and user requirements into full-fledged user experiences
- Create pixel-perfect mockups, user flow diagrams, and interactive prototypes to convey complex interactions
- Work with Engineering and Design to collaborate and turn mockups into functional art in the game
- Stay up-to-date of UX design best practices and current trends
- Take direction and work well as a production artist
Qualifications/Skill Sets
- Strong understanding of motion graphics style animation
- A mid-level understanding on Unity
- Comfortability with technology and rulesets that need to be adhered to
- Strong interest in the industry and a desire to make games
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Understanding of 3D art preferred
- Ability to concept and create art for product direction preferred
Demonstrated Ability To
- Make quality decisions within a project that improve the direction of the art/project
- Work with other artist and disciplines to achieve project goals
- Ship a title with accurate estimation
- Adapt the direction of a project based on needs
- Understand what users do and develop the best way to deliver on their actions
Education & Experience Required
A minimum of 1-2 years of industry experience and a basic foundation of graphic design/motion graphics.
Materials Required
Candidate should provide a portfolio of art that they have created or directed and a resume detailing the projects and studio they have been a part of. An art test may be required.
