Double Fine Productions is looking for a full time UI Programmer to join its San Francisco based development studio. We are expanding our Central Dev programming team to advance the development of our core UI libraries and support technical UI development efforts on current and future titles.
You will be responsible for developing C++ and blueprint UI code in the Unreal Engine, creating assets, utilities, and standard UI artist and programmer workflow practices for our studio. UI development includes support for PC and Xbox consoles and cloud platforms. Applicants should have a strong preference for working in a highly creative, innovative, and nimble development environment, where collaborating with design, audio, art, animation, tech, and other disciplines is standard. Our games are highly varied and present a wide variety of opportunities and challenges in UI visuals, useability, and accessibility feature development.

Responsibilities:
- Collaboration - As the studio UI expert you will be the go-to technical person for our teams when developing UI ideas, implementing UI code, and resolving UI issues. You will be expected to work with team members from all disciplines including external partners.
- Code - You will architect and expand our shared UI code base in Unreal Engine C++, incorporating and enabling work from multiple projects while balancing reliability, flexibility, and performance.
- Workflow - Working with our artists you will establish strategies and best practices to enable creative UI iteration, artistic expression, and innovative visual solutions.
- Knowledge - You will be expected to learn and investigate the latest in UI features and capabilities of Unreal Engine, console platforms, accessibility requirements, gaming UI/UX trends, and emerging standards.
