What you will be doing
Avalanche Studios is currently hiring a UI Programmer to join our Contraband development team, to help implement the User Interface. As a UI Programmer, you will work closely with your colleagues from the Design and Art teams to bring their vision for the user interface to life. And you will be tasked with maintaining consistency between UI mockups and the actual implementation in the game. On the technical side, this can mean developing new UI widgets, but also hooking up data flows between the game and presentation layers, and fixing performance issues.
Delivering a successful end-user experience does not end with you delivering a technical solution. You must be able to work with multiple systems simultaneously and parse the needs of the stakeholders on the project. And you must be able to balance the technical requirements with aesthetic ones when it comes to performance, stability, memory usage, and maintainability of our code.
Besides the responsibilities of your project, you will also be a member of our vertically-integrated Crafts platform. This is where you can share knowledge with developers of the same Craft across our projects and align on what makes for the best user interfaces in our games.
