UI Programmer - Summer Internship

Obsidian is looking for a user interface programmer intern to join us for our Obsidian University Internship Program and help make our next world-class role-playing game.

Our ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, outstanding problem-solving skills, the ability to deliver on time, and works well in a team environment. This intern will work with our team of artists and designers to deliver the artistic vision for the user interface of our next world-class RPG using the Unreal Engine.

Responsibilities

• Research and propose improvements to UI processes and pipelines
• Collaborate with artists and designers to achieve their artistic vision for the UI while prioritizing accessibility in implementation
• Collaborate with gameplay engineers to connect functionality to the UI
• Analyze and optimize UI elements to achieve performance targets

Requirements

• An avid gamer with a passion for making games
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
• Experience developing user interfaces for PC
• Experience in C/C++

Pluses

• Experience with Unreal Engine and UMG
• Experience developing user interfaces for consoles
