UI Director

Are you a master at creating UI that supports the fantasy of the game experience and a UX that immerses players into the world? Is user experience as important to you as the beauty of the art? Do you know how to leverage modularity and other techniques to work efficiently? This job entails answering yes to those asks!
We’re searching for a passionate and experienced UI/UX Director with a strong graphic design background and a love for games. Ideally, the top candidate can own and deliver all aspects of a world class gaming interface (collaborating and leading across multiple discipline teams to achieve goals on time, budget and at highest quality) and coordinating multi-studio teams globally for a unified vision and in-game execution.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with game, art and tech directors to establish functional pipelines and best practices for world class UI/UX solutions
- Manage the full process from design doc through wireframes, to art concept and implementation
- Lead a cross discipline team of designers, artists and engineers with clarity, accountability and excellence that may be cross-studio locations globally as well
- Anticipate and correct for user flow challenges as a solution focused leader
- Author and iterate solutions quickly from user research and cross discipline director feedback
- Convey aesthetic choice, functional purpose and technical implementation through written documents, verbal presentations and graphical examples
- Partner and report into the Art Director who owns overall consistency of vision per project
Requirements:
- Ideal candidate has 7+ years of UI and UX experience, 3+ years in a leadership or sub lead role
- Proven, portfolio of published world class interface at all levels - Front End, Meta and Macro character and career systems, In-game HUD work
- Strong knowledge of evolving best practices in gaming space for HCI, intuitive UX flow, and accessibility
- Solid graphic design background w/knowledge of type, color, layout, motion
- UI Design experience in both 2D and 3D environments
- Able to work and communicate with remote and co-located teams
- Able to create static and animated art UI concepts
- Able to multi-task direction and execution across 1-3 projects over the same period
