We are looking for someone like you to become our all-new UI Artist and join our passionate and talented UI team, where we are building on the years of success that Rebellion has enjoyed.

UI Artist role:

The UI Artist is a new role dedicated to collaborating with UI Designers to create state-of-the-art layout and UI art for our game. You’ll be preparing art content setup and helping implement it into the game, at the same time ensuring the artistic quality of the games UI. As part of the UI team, you will play a key role in creating amazing quality UI whilst adapting to changing designs and the technical requirements of the project.

This role would suit someone with experience in creating UI art in a mainstream console/PC game, and has shipped at least one console/PC title. The ideal candidate would be able to demonstrate that they were significantly responsible for a visible part of the creative and UI design process.

The Rebellion UI team are responsible for delivering innovative UX/UI solutions for our titles. This role would be working to develop brand new IP for Rebellion; collaborating with our UI Designer you would create cutting-edge UI designs to compliment this ambitious project.

Key Outcomes:

• Amazing quality UI art that matches or surpasses game design, art and UI design expectations
• Ability to estimate expected work, keep schedules and communicate schedule related topics
• Adapt to changing designs and technical requirements
• Fit into the game and UI teams personally and professionally
• Work with a UI Designer to create art for 2D front-end game interfaces and in-game display HUDs
• Work to a functional and aesthetic brief, within technical constraints, adapting to different art styles
• Design multi-platform UI solutions and designs for various input devices
• Create, design and implement both static and animating 2D elements
• Create UI prototypes

Requirements

• Knowledge of modern user interface design principles, composition and colour theory
• Knowledge of game UI design and creation of graphic elements and animations
• Knowledge of Photoshop or other 2D packages
• Core graphic design skills including layout, typography, font formats and colour
• Knowledge of the video game development process
• Able to develop resolutions to problems
• Able to effectively communicate, whilst building long-term, trusting relationships with a wide range of people
