Blind Squirrel Games is searching for a knowledgeable UI Artist to join us in creating a bold open-world experience.

Supported by the Senior UI Artist and UI Lead, you will conceptualize intuitive systems and synthesize complex design features into practical in-game interfaces that incorporate the project's visual style.

The ideal candidate for this mid-level role has experience conceptualizing and implementing UI components and can translate a thorough understanding of flow chart and wireframe development into fabricating cutting-edge assets that meet project expectations and deadlines.

Your responsibilities in this role will consist of UI implementation and iteration, including player icons, interactive menus, and in-game HUD screens. It is imperative that the person in this role is comfortable working alongside concept artists, designers, animators, and engineering to innovate user-friendly and dynamic interfaces while being able to express ideas and feedback to the team.

We are seeking an artist that possesses the excellent communication skills necessary to articulate personal creative processes while receiving critical feedback in style and technique to ensure project consistency.

This job is a full-time position available to work remotely or based out of our Irvine, Austin, or Auckland studio.

The salary range being considered for this role is $80,267 - $95,251. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location.

Responsibilities
  1. Work alongside internal and external UI artists to ensure the overall UI aesthetic and UX needs of the project are met
  2. Create polished user interfaces that encompass the project's visual style and reinforce gameplay
  3. Prototype and refine UI art elements for in-game with high consideration for consistency, visual art principles, and a user-centric mindset
  4. Assist in the development of icons, new screen art mocks, and interpreting visual look and feel for new features
  5. Implement newly created and altered UI art assets using the UMG UI tools in UE4
