UI Artist

Blackbird Interactive is looking for a creative, artistically talented, and technically minded UI Artist. Do you enjoy solving problems at a conceptual level, but also love figuring out the details when it comes time to make those conceptual ideas concrete? You will work with our Designers and Programmers to conceive of, iterate on, and implement the final UI for our upcoming game .
Responsibilities
- Help organize and assemble UI layouts for the game, and apply and maintain a consistent art style throughout the entire project interface
- Create meaningful UI deliverables such as icons, wireframes, mockups, motion graphics, and concepts that support the product vision
- Work collaboratively with game designers, UX, and UI engineers to implement UI components with strong and consistent visual language
- Ability to work independently and self-manage in an agile production environment
- Drive and support your ideas all the way through the successful launch of a project
- Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback and to work as part of a team.
- Knowledge of UI development software (ex: Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, Unity, etc.)
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a UI Artist
- Experience shipping at least one game title in the past
- Familiar with UI production tools and implementation process
- Experience working closely with UI engineers to drive the UI creation process, including cutting up UI assets, creating design specifications, and more.
- Capable of working on multidisciplinary project teams, able to handle changing priorities throughout a product life cycle
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Experience creating UI concepts, fonts, style guides for interactive software using standard design tools (ex: Figma, Photoshop, AfterFX, Illustrator )
- Familiar with UI, interaction design, usability principles and best practices
Pluses
- Capable of implementing and iterating UI designs independently
- Experience developing for AAA console or multi-platform platform projects.
- Experience creating motion graphics, UI animation using After Effects, or other UI tools
- Capable of creating interactive Prototypes to validate and iterate your designs with key stakeholders
- Experience using Maya for very basic 3D modeling and texturing.
