We are extensively growing our Global Art Team
We’re looking for an exceptionally talented Senior UI Artist to join our "Is It You?" game team – helping to enhancing our players experience while exposing the shady shrooms!
This position entails a great deal of responsibility; as a UI Artist at 1518 Studios you will design and optimize player-facing user interfaces. - Building bridges and foster close collaboration with other teams to help shape all aspects of the player experience, and problem solve to create functional and efficient UI solutions.

Job Responsibilities
- Development of UI design language, components and layouts. Getting into the bones of the UI, thinking about all scalability, accessibility, usability and player needs.
- Support in the creation and iteration of UI mock-ups, prototypes and polished designs for game that enhance player interactions and complement the user experience.
- Produce flows describing UI states and the resulting visual information fed back to the user.
- Support in the creation, maintenance and governance of UI design systems in Figma, and in-game.
- Identify when new components are needed, being aware of the downstream effects of UI design work on development and the overall game ecosystem.
- Create and maintain associated UI Design System documentation.
- Collaborate with UX Design and technical teams to identify needs, and challenges to solve within the design system, and assist with implementing UI solutions that ensure product consistency and effective use of components.
- Work closely with Visual Design teams, efficiently balancing the technical constraints while staying true to the look and feel of the UI design, and the overall art-direction of each game.
- Consistently benchmark the useability and accessibility of new and existing products, and leverage creative solutions to make iterative improvements to designs.
- Support in the wider production of design flows, pre-vis and prototypes as required.
- Produce related game-ready assets as required.
- Hands-on working in Unity.
- Working closely with the Lead Designer and the project team on creating an unforgettable player experience.
- Meet with key team members to ensure that everyone understands the goal and plan for a content design before its implementation
- Continuously look for ways to improve or expand on the game experience through creating ideas for new mechanics or features.
- Native level English
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years' game industry experience in a Level/Content Designer role.
- Industry experience and at least 1 shipped title that featured a multiplayer component, worked on from beginning to end.
- Experience creating UI designs, screens, flows and documentation with a high level of craft and keen eye for detail.
- A solid understanding of UX/UI design fundamentals.
- Experience working in Unity.
- Experience of supporting other Level Designers with your technical level design experience – e.g. creating metric workflows that ensure gameplay consistency or exposing/creating blueprint functionality for other designers to use
- Analytical and methodical approach to working.
- Portfolio demonstrating applied UI design work and use of design systems.
- 3+ years’ experience of using modern design tools and workflows (Figma, FigJam, Adobe CC, etc).
- A creative, agile and player-centric mindset.
- The ability to work within constraints and to specific briefs.
- A deep passion and knowledge of the games industry.
- Can work independently and unsupervised to a high standard.
- Great communication and collaboration skills; the ability to work openly with their team and pivot through other disciplines.
