UI Artist/Designer

Oxide Games is looking for a UI Artist/Designer to join our team, working on a new IP AAA game with a first party publisher. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for learning new skills, have a strong foundation in UI/UX with a focus on art, and be eager to work in a highly collaborative team environment.
In this role you will…
- Work directly with the design staff to implement new in-game UI screens, buttons, icons, panels and other controls, providing any insights and improvements to the feature during development
- Learn and understand high-level UI design and gameplay paradigms and industry trends
- Work within the established UI style direction and suggest improvements based upon peer review and external focus tests
What types of education and experience do you need for this role?
- 3+ years of industry or related experience in illustration/concept art and motion graphics animation
- Ability to work within established style guidelines
- Expertise in Illustrator, Photoshop etc. and/or other 2D software packages
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Be self-motivated, able to multi-task, and give and receive constructive feedback
- Willing and eager to work with a proprietary engine and support its future development
As a plus:
- Be familiar with XML syntax
- Technical knowledge and experience, such as scripting in C#
- Good editorial judgment and understanding of branding
- BA in Illustration or Graphic Design
- Portfolio that demonstrates strong illustration skills

In this role you will have the challenge of maintaining our style and creating a library of assets to facilitate productions while working with outsource resources while maintaining schedules and quality. We are a small team responsible for a lot of UI, you will not be able to hide but rather have lots of agency and creative control.
Oxide is a small, growing company with lots of room for career advancement, agency, responsibility, and creative control. You will have the opportunity to work with outsources and outsourced art, work with large focus test data, create and help run UR tests. You will also work with dynamic content and CMS systems, learn simple xml and code snippets to create and tweak your own UI without waiting for programmers.
