UI Art Internship

Insomniac Games is seeking a UI Art intern to work within our world-class UI/UX department. We are in search of someone with a strong grasp of interactive design fundamentals, a track record of creating graphic design, iconography and/or game UI layout and art, and the desire to take those skills to the next level. As part of our cross-functional team, you'll be mentored by senior artists and engineers, develop valuable connections within the industry, and help create generation defining player experiences.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Develops, creates, and implements artwork for player - and developer - facing products with a focus on HUD, iconography, interfaces, and menu systems.
Internship Qualifications:
- Six to twelve months related experience and/or training, or students enrolled at a college or university, pursuing a Bachelor’s in a related field (Graphic Design, Game Art, or Game Development/Design)
- Master's candidates may apply for this internship.
- We will also consider recent graduates – within 12 months of graduation, when the internship begins
- Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator; experience with After Effects, Animate, and/or Maya is a plus.
- Excellent conceptual and visual design skills.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively within a dynamic team environment.
- Empathy for our players and willingness to work iteratively toward solutions that maximize their experience.
- An ideal intern is self-motivated, collaborative, and eager to learn.
Internship Details:
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
- The student must be available to intern 5 days per week for approximately 40 hours a week.
- The duration of internship is flexible, but we expect at least an 8-week commitment from our interns.
- This role is based in Burbank, California or Durham, North Carolina
