This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the most accomplished audio departments in the UK. The Trainee Sound Designer’s primary purpose is to learn, create and implement sound effects and other audio for multi award-winning Total War titles developed at the studio.

Key Responsibilities
As a Trainee Sound Designer, you’ll be responsible for creating sound effects using techniques such as location/studio recording, Foley recording and post-processing in addition to utilising pre-recorded in-house and commercial material.
A core element of your role will be to create and implement audio content into the game, using Audiokinetic Wwise, other 3rd party software and our in-house tools. You will report to the Lead Sound Designer and ensure that your creative and technical produce is in line with the goals and feedback set by the Audio Director.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience
Essential
- Knowledge and experience with current standard DAW like ProTools, Reaper, Cubase, etc.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of microphones and recording techniques
- Ability to learn new in-house audio tools and software
- Ability to work as a team player
- A keen interest in and a passion for sound in games and other forms of a/v entertainment
Desirable
- Knowledge and familiarity of Total War brand a bonus
- HND in Sound Engineering / Music Technology (or above) or relevant in-house game audio experience
All Audio applicants are required to submit a relevant show reel or any other form of audio examples of their work in support of their application, demonstrating their audio knowledge.Applications cannot be considered without an accompanying show reel.This position does not involve any music production, or music related sound design.
The traineeship will be for one year onsite at our studio in Horsham, West Sussex.
These traineeships are paid placements and all applicants must have the Right to Work in the UK.
