The Total Rewards Director owns and delivers a strategic and inclusive total rewards program that will help power our global growth through attracting, motivating, and retaining an exceptional team. You will have the unique opportunity to roll up your sleeves and work hands-on while simultaneously providing direction in program development to a fast-growing, and evolving company. This role reports to the Chief People Officer and leads a small team of compensation and benefits professionals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the Total Rewards team, ensuring the ongoing coaching and development of each team member while providing a culture of trust and empowerment
- Own a comprehensive portfolio of employee benefits and perks, drive benefits renewal process including overseeing the maintenance of carrier and vendor databases, designing training and education for new and existing employees, and leading our long-term benefits strategy
- Oversee plan adjustments which are cost effective, consistent with market trends and company objectives, and designed to attract and retain employees
- Serve as the primary contact with all insurance carriers to manage billing/invoicing information in close partnership with Finance & Accounting team members
- Collaborate with HR business partners, Leaders and Recruitment to facilitate attraction and retention of talent
- Develop insightful and data-informed recommendations to improve current programs/processes.
- Design, develop, maintain total compensation guidelines and job architecture structure
- Lead the compensation planning cycles
- Provide recommendations and quarterly reporting to the Board of Directors
- Ensure company compliance with federal and state laws governing both compensation and benefits practices. Direct the team to prepare reporting as required for all health and welfare plans, including audits
- Utilize Compensation and Benefits policies and practices to interpret situations and advise executives as needed
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Experience in Compensation and Benefits in a high-paced environment, preferably within high-tech environment
- Experience leading global programs and executive compensation
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent demonstrated work experience
- Advanced knowledge of federal and state laws on HR policies and practices including knowledge of ADA, EEO, FMLA, wage and hour laws, ERISA, and federal and state filing and compliance requirements related to employee compensation and benefits
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate data-driven recommendations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, with an emphasis toward excellence in customer service
- Experience working in MS Office and a variety of HR information systems, including the ability to create pivot tables, vlookups, and charts/graphs partnered with analytical and problem-solving skills
- Dynamic personality that will build relationships and trust at all levels. Must have good judgement and a “can do” attitude including a strong work ethic and self-direction to drive tasks to completion with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrated capability to improve and scale processes. A systems thinker who can effectively diagnose the root cause and affect large-scale change
- Demonstrated capability of handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS
- Project management and implementation experience
- Experience working with or in support of diverse communities
- Experience working with the Workday HRIS system
