Job Description
For its Annecy Production Studio, Ubisoft is looking for a Tools Programmer to join a team in charge of developing a AAA game.
Your main tasks will be :
- Understand the production needs in order to validate their feasibility to better meet the production teams expectations
- Analyze existing functionality of the engine and game editor then identify possible improvements to meet the project requirements
- Advise improvements in designating and implementing new tools and systems
- Work with technical directors and engine teams to improve the production pipeline
- Support and maintain production tools, workflows in the editor, the plugins of third party applications (3DSMax, Maya, source control, ...) and productivity tools (compiler, build process, ...)
- Identify and fix bugs identified by users (production team)
- Document your work to facilitate knowledge transfer and deliver quality user documents
Qualifications
Required technical skills:
- Good command of C++ & C# programming
- Knowledge of Scripts (Lua, Python, MaxScript)
- Knowledge of Perforce and versioning systems
- Good knowledge of at least one standard production tools (3DS Max, Maya, Motion Builder, ...)
Additional desired skills:
- Knowledge of procedural generation tools (Houdini, Substance, SpeedTree)
- Console development
Required soft skills:
- Excellent communication (technical and non-technical)
- Professionalism and good organization of work
- Being more oriented towards the creation of tools than game content
- Be motivated by improving tools and team productivity
- Understanding and consideration of user needs
- Ability to understand and solve problems related to production tools
