Tools Software Engineer Lead (C#) | Halo Infinite

SkyBox Labs is a game development studio that works on some of the world’s most iconic games. Our current projects include working as a co-developer on Halo Infinite , projects in the Minecraft Universe , supporting the development of Magic: The Gathering Arena , and original title, Stela . As one of Vancouver’s fastest-growing game studios, since our inception in 2011, SkyBox Labs has evolved from a group of 8 people developing independent projects to a team of over 200 engineers, artists, designers, producers, and more.
We are seeking an experienced C# Software Engineer Lead to join us on the development of Halo Infinite , the next iteration of the Halo franchise! Working closely with the audio and narrative teams, the person in this role will be responsible for the build and refinement of tools and pipelines critical to the implementation of the game vision.
This role is open to those new to the games industry, as well as veterans who love making games for the enjoyment of world-wide fans.
Responsibilities
- Work in C# to build and refine various tools, pipelines, and web applications for the development of the game
- Owning the vision and driving the full architecture of a new initiative by bringing a dialog management and implementation tool to a high level of usability
- Regularly communicate with internal team members, including the audio team, as well as regular engagement with partners outside the studio via various communication channels
- Work both independently and collaboratively to solve problems efficiently and effectively
Qualifications
- A collaborative, self-starter with a passion for games
- 6 + years experience working as a software engineer
- Very familiar with and strong experience working in C#
- Experience working with Git, perforce, or another version control system
- Experience providing technical leadership and/or mentorship to other engineers
Nice-to-haves:
- Javascript experience
- Game development experience, particularly with other narrative content authoring solutions/tools
- Web development experience
- Full stack experience
- Comprehension or experience with C++
- Experience working with a unit testing framework
- Familiarity with Angular/React, MS SQL Server, or other databases (i.e. doc storage, no sql solutions, etc.)
- Web-based Client app development experience (Ex. Electron, ASP.NET, MVC, and/or Web API)

Work During COVID-19
In order to keep our employees, candidates and community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, the majority of our teams are working from home within Canada, with plans to a return in a hybrid capacity in 2022. All interviewing, onboarding, and most work will take place remotely for the foreseeable future.
