Tools Programmer

Job Description

Main Responsibility

· Compile and understand system development needs and assess their feasibility to enhance the production pipeline.

· Analyse existing features in the engine and available tools and see how they could be enhanced to fulfil the intentions of the project.

· Suggest improvements by designing and implementing new systems/tools whenever necessary.

· Coordination for multisite developments (audio/video calls, mails, reports etc.) to enhance the production pipeline.

· Document the work in order to transfer knowledge and enable users (from other crafts) to understand how to use the new systems and features.

· Analyse and correct the tools bugs identified by people from other crafts and tools testers (and eventually the quality control team).

· Flexible to deal with a wide range of technologies, from the game editor to the build system.

Mentor and develop junior members in the team.

Qualifications

· Very strong C# and/or C++ skills (Data structures, Design Patterns).

· 6+ years of experience in tools development.

· Keen to optimize/automate existing processes.

· Very strong Logical and Analytical skills.

· Very strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.

· Knowledge of versioning/source-code control system.

· Knowledge of inter process communications.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Ability to work both within a team and independently as per requirements from time to time.

· Strong reporting and documentation skills.

· Masters or Bachelor’s degree in computer science (ideally from a reputed institute) or relevant work experience.

· Flexibility in work organization
