We are looking for a Tools Engineer to join our team in San Francisco! The role will be responsible for interfacing with our developers and helping with technical issues, suggesting and implementing product improvements, testing new SDK versions, and working with partnering companies to help facilitate the integration of analytics, app monetization, and much more. We are looking for a “jack-of-all-trades” who can help diagnose and solve problems, then suggest and implement solutions using various tools. You will also have the opportunity to work directly with Lion Studios leadership - including Directors across teams and lead engineers.
Responsibilities:
- Own Lion Studios Unity packages, their testing, and deployment
- Help prototype, develop, and communicate best practices and use cases to our external developers and customers
- Be a product expert and key point of contact for internal business teams
- Participate in designing and developing packages to support new game features like Social, LiveOps, and build processes
- Regularly diagnose and resolve technical issues with our developers, including troubleshooting, Unity project code review, and revisions
- Suggest new features and improvements to SDKs and APIs
Basic Requirements:
- Experience in mobile app development (iOS/Android) and ecosystem (SDKs, APIs) is a must
- Strong C# experience and knowledge
- Experience working with one or more backend programming languages (e.g., NodeJS, PHP, or Python)
- Design and development of Unity Editor tools
- Comfort with git and version control best practices
- 1-4 years of experience in software development
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Games Technology, or a minimum of two years of experience in a full-time role that directly matches the above requirements
- Ability to work independently and prioritize workload based on need and opportunity
- Self-motivated and keen ability to take the initiative, with a "can-do" attitude
- Excellent communication skills and strong client-facing business acumen
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience designing and / or integrating SDKs
- General web application experience or personal projects, including frontend (HTML, CSS, JS) and / or backend (SQL) development
- Interest in CICD technologies and devops practices
- Interest in the mobile environment, including industry shifts, monetization, new technologies and gaming
