In this role you will help us bring to life tools that help us use our data in ways that will improve the quality and fun of all our games.

Blizzard Entertainment is seeking an enthusiastic Tools Engineer to join our Global Insights team. You will help build tools across our department ranging from backend CI/CD configurations, to internal front end integrations to help improve the team’s workflow. This work includes the support of development of data models, data products, data tools & telemetry specs that will be used by our team & all of Blizzard’s game teams. Our team & engineers are collaborative and work closely to share knowledge and push the department forward by learning from each other’s successes and failures. We use group discussions, paired programming, mentoring, and adopting any technique that keeps us sustainably delivering quality software. Are you up for the challenge?

Covid-19 Hiring Update: We’ve transitioned to a work-from-home model and we’re continuing to interview and hire during this time. This role is expected to begin as a remote position. We understand each person’s circumstances may be unique and will work with you to explore possible interim options.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3 years of experience with Python
• 3 years of experience with SQL
• Experience with CI/CD, Cloud Platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure)
• Ability to tackle new challenges & research solutions for unsolved problems
• Highly collaborative and comfortable working with team members across disciplines

Pluses

• Experience working with 3rd party APIs
• Experience developing HTTP-based APIs
• Experience with the following DBT, Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes, Protobufs, Tableau, Postgres
• Experience with Analytical Databases (BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake, Vertica, Hive, etc…)
• Experience developing HTTP-based API’s (RESTful, GraphQL, etc.)
• Experience with automated testing
• Contributions to open-source or personal projects
• Experience with code versioning tools such as Git
• Experience working on cross-discipline teams (Analysts, Data Scientists, Program Management, etc…)
