Texture Artist

Overview
Bethesda Game Studio® is looking for a talented Texture Artist to join our team and push the bleeding-edge in creating AAA games for PC and next-generation console systems. The ideal candidate will be skillful in organic and hard surface texturing and have a strong artistic eye. Furthermore, the artist should be comfortable with a technical pipeline involving different tools and an inhouse engine. The candidate must be passionate about contributing to the creation of video game experiences beyond simply asset creation.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the art team to grasp the game’s artistic vision and develop textures accordingly.
- Study concept art and research your own references to develop the visual design language.
- Work closely with 3D artists to understand their needs and help them texture their assets.
- Create textures from scratch, texture banks, or scans to build the texture library.
- Create textures/materials that are visually appealing and that also respect technical constraints.
- Document and share your knowledge and best practices.
- Be open to critiques and to optimize your work.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in texturing, modelling, lighting, or other related experience.
- Knowledge of 2D and 3D art tools (Substance Painter, Substance Designer, Photoshop, 3DS Max, ZBrush and game engines).
- A solid understanding of art fundamentals (lighting, composition, proportion, colour theory, etc.), PBR, and game constraints.
- A highly creative, collaborative, and innovative spirit.
- Excellent observation, communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
