Job Description
Summary:
The Texture Artist is responsible for creating textures kit for objects and game environments autonomously, taking all the technical constraints into account.
Missions:
· Responsible for creating high-quality content for our game Art assets.
· Work within a cross-functional team including Level artist , Model Artist , and Art director, as well as collaborating with other designers.
· Apply the project’s artistic direction when creating textures;
· Know the objects and environments created by modellers;
· Create or modify the textures needed to meet required quality standards;
· Use good judgement and expertise to optimize the number of textures that are produced and their uses;
· Play a proactive role with the team of modelers and lighting technicians to adapt textures to their needs and constraints;
· Verify the quality of the textures once they are imported into the game and make any necessary improvements;
· Being able to understand and author real time materials;
· Carry out all other related tasks.
Qualifications
Requirement:
· Excellent visual design skills
· Expert level of knowledge of 3D texture/shader creation techniques, such as PBR.
· Expert level with Substance Painter is essential.
· Expert level knowledge of graphic design tools, such as: Photoshop.
· Capable to create textures from scratch.
· An exceptional understanding of design principles and foundations.
· A good understanding of lighting and materials.
· Extensive Experience with 3D design, 3D texture design.
· A passion for creating compelling content, as well as incorporation of the latest techniques for generating 2D and 3D imagery for film and television, is decisive to this role.
· Attention to detail, a gifted aesthetic eye and the ability to quickly grasp and distill highly complex matters are all crucial.
· A good grasp of underlying technical concepts
· Experience with Substance Designer is a plus.
