The Battle.net & Online Products (B&OP) organization is home to 300+ superpowered engineers, product managers, project managers, and designers focused on building the technology that powers Blizzard Entertainment’s games. Covid-19 Hiring Update: This role is anticipated to be assigned to work fully on-site at an Activision Blizzard office.
Responsibilities
- Define Test Strategy & Test Plans for all projects developed by the team, ensuring appropriate type composition (automated, functional, manual, etc.)
- Be responsible for the automation initiatives which includes partnering with SDETs for execution and modifying of automated test cases.
- Create, monitor, and control metrics impacting product and team quality
- Analyze product quality and usability, associated system limitations, and report on risk
- Host test closure activities, e.g., test ware evaluation, knowledge transfer, retrospectives
- Lead, connect, and partner with teams across Blizzard towards quality initiatives.
- Drive test plan, estimation, execution & informs testing effort progress and impact with supporting Data
- Act as a point of contact for the team and is responsible for understanding the cross-team effort, and all critical dependencies to or from their team.
- Collaborates advises/supports other test leads in the cross-team initiatives
- Lead, coach, and manage a small team towards individual and team excellence
- Accountable for team's cross function and cross product training
- Proactively identifies training needs and areas for improvement
- Build knowledge repository's, update, and improve processes
- Partner and provide high value quality-related services to development leadership
- Accountable for the quality of all work and relationships on their team
- Ensure that teams are following documented test processes and to enforce best practices
- Looks for continuous improvement in skills and to enhance the quality of our products
- Develop training materials for project team and lead workshops for test leadership, requirements gathering, and risk identification
- Coach and develop leadership talent across the department for succession planning
- Champion and influence software development best practices and the customer experience always
Requirements
- We’re looking for a technically proficient and knowledgeable Test Lead who understands the manual and automation space
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
- Experience leading test teams: 3+ years
- Management experience: 1+ years
- Experience with gray/black box test methods
- Demonstrated experience in test planning for complex features/systems
- Passion for video games and software quality
Pluses
- Coding knowledge: XML/HTML, JavaScript, Python, Java, C/C++/C#, SQL
- Certifications: PMP, Scrum Master and/or Product Owner, ISTQB
- Familiarity with Blizzard Entertainment line of products and services

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $64,640.00 - $119,520.00 Annual. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
