Are you a proactive Test Automation Engineer up for innovating and implementing company wide test automation frameworks and solutions? And ready to play your part in one of Europe’s fastest-growing game companies?
If yes, Metacore could be the right place for you
Metacore is a Helsinki-based game company – best known for its hit game Merge Mansion, close Supercell collaboration, and most importantly, people-first company culture. Our culture is based on uncompromised trust, which allows us to work autonomously, efficiently and ambitiously. We have mutually agreed on five cultural norms to describe how we build trust and work as Metacore – you can find them at metacoregames.com/culture
Our company’s mission is to entertain hundreds of millions of people for decades. Although we already entertain 20,000,000+ players worldwide, and have grown into a team of 60+ game industry professionals in less than two years, we’re only getting started. That’s where we hope you come in: to innovate and implement company wide test automation frameworks and solutions.
Basics
- Location: Helsinki, Finland
- Relocation: Relocating to Finland expected, full support provided
- Remote work: Hybrid model of office and remote work
- Start date: Flexible, ideally as soon as possible
- Working language: English
Responsibilities
Test Automation Engineer plays a key role in taking the quality assurance activities at Metacore to “the next level”. You will innovate solutions that can for example automatically play our games, test the logics of our game backend or build tooling to ease manual testing, among others. Alongside this, you will also build bridges between our automated development pipelines, test environments, test metrics and various dashboards.
In practice, this means (at least) the following:
- Innovating and implementing company wide test automation frameworks and solutions
- Working together with our development and QA teams to improve and automate testing on all levels - that is unit-, client-, backend and UI tests, load and performance testing etc.
- Gathering ideas across our organization for what could or should be automated, and strive to find the frameworks and solutions that best fits that purpose
- Integrating automated tests into our build pipelines
Requirements
Every role is eventually shaped to match our unique passions, backgrounds and strengths. Here are some of the key skills and experience you should already have when joining Metacore as a Test Automation Engineer:
- Hands-on experience in quality assurance and familiarity with the processes, methods and principles within QA
- Strong understanding of modern software development processes and ways to improve quality in their different phases. Furthermore, you understand the do’s and don'ts of automated testing in a fast paced and agile environment
- A solid background in automating unit-, integration-, system and/or UI tests as you will be a key person in defining and implementing test automation
- Some experience in software development. You don’t need to be a software developer, but you have passion and drive to learn more of it
In addition to these, it would be nice but not mandatory for you to know these as well:
- Knowledge of basic concepts in Unity is a strong bonus - as you will be implementing test automation at various stages in the process, including unit testing of our games
- Previous experience from game testing and mobile test automation
- Practical know-how of building, extending and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
Sounds about right? Then let’s talk!
