It’s an exciting time to join our team. We're one of the largest Danish gaming companies and we have been scaling fast in the last few years. With our teams growing and expanding, we have now found ourselves in need of better documenting our processes. This is so that we can continue communicating effectively about our various systems in a super user friendly manner.

As a Technical Writer at Tactile Games, you will be responsible for ensuring that the documentation for all of our workflow processes and systems is clear, correct, comprehensive, and most of all, easy to use. In this position you will work closely with different teams of programmers to identify new project requests and requirements that must be included in the documentation.

The perfect fit for this role is a great writer with a strong engineering mindset, who finds it easy to partner with subject matter experts, discuss technical topics and write about them for a variety of audiences (programmers, engineers and designers). A strong knowledge base and the ability to work cooperatively with other teams are the keys to being successful in this role.

Sounds interesting? Your first task will be to document all the processes relating to our internal dashboard, which is a platform that is used by the whole company to work on games. You will be sitting with our Core Team and working directly with programmers who created the dashboard. In order to set you up for success, we will provide you with everything you need (tools and technology), all within our flat structure and collaborative company culture. You will have the freedom and flexibility to work in your own way, but sharing knowledge and ideas is highly encouraged! Full responsibility and ownership of your projects, you will be a key part of our continuing growth.

This is a full-time position, available immediately and on-site in our Copenhagen office.

What you will do as a Technical Writer at Tactile:

  • Define documentation standards
  • Manage the documentation process, including the creation, editing, versioning, proofreading and publishing of documentation
  • Continuously improve Tactile’s documentation content in collaboration with programmers, product managers and others
  • Review and edit content for all new and enhanced features
  • Produce content for using Tactile’s internal tools, including contextual content that clarifies why and when a user might use a feature
  • Describe internal workflows and structure them graphically
  • Implement workflows to ensure the documentation is relevant and kept up to date
  • Edit, clarify, and proofread technical documents written by your colleagues, and coach non-writers on ways to improve their writing skills as needed
  • Complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
  • Combine text with supporting visual elements in order to present complex information in a manner that can be easily understood by the target audience
  • Help review and create UI text, such as field labels and error messages, on our dashboard
  • Contribute to the improvement of team processes and styles

Requirements:

  • Roughly 3-5 years of experience in the field of technical writing
  • Solid understanding of how different processes, systems and documentation works
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • A background in computer science (educational or professional)

Nice to haves:

  • Experience using Unity
  • Writing API documentation

What we offer:

  • A full-time position in a bright new office space in the heart of Copenhagen
  • A chance to work with the latest tools and technology
  • Opportunities for individual growth and development
  • New professional challenges - you will be able to shape, influence and innovate how we do things!
  • Social activities, including game nights, book club, Friday bar and more
  • The opportunity to become a part of the diverse Tactile family of 160+ employees representing over 30 different nationalities, and 40% women!
  • Relocation assistance to those coming from outside of Denmark
  • Danish language classes with our in-house Danish teacher to support you in starting your life in Denmark

At Tactile, we work hard to nurture an open and amicable work environment, based on trust, individual freedom and responsibility. Our colleagues work together on projects in a flat structure with little hierarchy. We firmly believe that when talented people collaborate instead of compete, amazing things happen! This is why we consider ourselves not only a growing company, but also a growing family.

We would love for you to become a part of our story, so apply now! We welcome candidates of all backgrounds from all over the world, but please make sure your application is in English.
