We are looking for an experienced technical writer who can translate game feature and hotfix lists from engineering into professionally written customer-facing content for all levels of players. Ideal candidate has strong PM skills to manage workload and create, track, and prioritize tasks. Must thrive in a demanding environment.
Responsibilities
- Writing (approx. 80% of time)
- Writing patch notes and known issue articles using fix lists provided by engineering
- Updating support/how-to content for gaming audiences to ensure that it is clear, concise, and easy-to-follow
- Authoring new articles to build and expand our existing content library
- Ability to author articles for core gaming users as well as creators, hardcore fans, and beginners
- Copy review, content consolidation and reformatting
- Quality control of writing and content display to ensure quality and accuracy
- Communicating and collaborating with multiple vendor and client stakeholders
- Balancing multiple assignments with tight deadlines, working independently and as part of a team Project Management (approx. 20% of time)
- Function as a content point of contact for the production team
- Task creation and maintenance
- Asset acquisition and management
Network Requirement
During WFH or if remote, the following is required for this type of position:
- Internet speed of at least 500 Mbps or 1 Gbps, wired connection preferred, to ensure work is not impacted by connectivity/latency issues
- Internet data is at a high or unlimited cap
- Make sure to run and repeat speed tests throughout the day, as it can fluctuate during peak hours
- Candidates must provide a screenshot of their speed test result
- Agency must include speed test screenshot as part of the submission process for consideration
- If candidate does not currently meet the network requirement:
- Candidate is committing to meeting the network requirement by their start date if an offer is received and mutually accepted

Requirements
- 5+ years online media copy editor/writer experience
- Halo multiplayer expertise
- Minimum 5 years user experience with Xbox Consoles, Steam and PC gaming
- Proficiency with Azure Dev Ops, or similar bug database as well as Microsoft Office software
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and consistent quality check habits
- Ability to independently write content and prepare professional drafts following formatting and content guidelines and corporate writing standards with little oversight and direction
- High tolerance for ambiguity; ability to navigate through ambiguity by raising questions, seeking answers, moving forward with information
- Strict adherence to NDA and all confidential information with deep understanding of game launch privacy
- Ability to make time available on weekends or nights when needed
Nice to Haves
- BA in English, journalism, communication, or related field
- Experience in video game quality assurance
- Familiarity with documenting or reviewing video game bugs
- Zendesk publishing or CSS experience
- Twitter or other social media experience
