Job Overview
Wargaming Chicago is seeking a Technical UX Designer to join our world-class team and deliver fresh experiences for players. Our projects offer unique opportunities for developers from all backgrounds.
As a Technical UX Designer, you will work on the overall presentation of the game in all aspects and phases of production, propose solutions to translate game design intentions into usable and memorable graphical user interfaces.
From exploring new concepts through prototyping to balancing gameplay designed from groundbreaking mechanics, your work will define the next generation of designs and pipelines that empower development teams and inspire gamers for years to come. Your considered communication, comprehensive design sensibilities, problem-solving abilities, and eye for detail are our tools of the trade as we strive to bring new experiences to our audience.
What will you do?
- Be the bridge between Designers, Artists and our Engineering teams
- Research, define, extend, and maintain production pipelines, processes, and workflows to realize and support design and art
- Create, maintain and guide UE4 Blueprint scripting in the discipline of design
- Document workflows and tool pipelines for designers to utilize
- Take part in design discussions and provide feedback and input
- Mentor other members of the design team from a technical perspective
What are we looking for?
- Intermediate level experience with Unreal Engine 4
- Detail oriented and highly organized
- Able to work well with a team in a dynamic, cross-discipline, and iterative setting
- A passion for video games, and user-centric design
What additional skills will help you stand out?
- 3-5 years experience in game development
- Experience with software engineering or scripting
- Experience designing games for multiple platforms
- Experience designing games in multiple languages
- Passion for World of Tanks
