We are looking for someone like you to become our brand-new Technical QA and join our passionate and talented Rebellion North team, where we are building on the years of success that Rebellion has enjoyed.
Technical QA role:
The Technical QA is a new role dedicated to ensuring the quality of our games to an industry-leading standard. You will make sure that we as a team can continue to uphold best practices while maintaining maximum efficiency on our exciting upcoming projects. As part of the QA team, you will play a key role in helping to shape the future of the department going forward.
This role would suit someone who has prior experience in a gaming studio and is technically astute.
The Rebellion North QA team are responsible for guaranteeing a high level of quality for all projects and identifying problems early in the process.
Responsibilities
- Test games and applications across various platforms (8th & 9th Generation Consoles and PC)
- Work directly with the development team to test features both before and after they are submitted to the game
- Provide expert technical and platform support to the QA team
- Answer queries from development, production and QA team members
- Perform advanced tests in the relevant technical areas of your expertise (Analysing logs and crash dumps, using in-engine tools etc.)
- Study and evaluate requirements to determine the need for change to current QA processes

Requirements
- Excellent communication in both written form and in-person interactions
- Knowledge of bug testing and tracking software (JIRA, Devtrack)
- Advanced knowledge of the video game development process
- Able to develop resolutions to unusually challenging problems with highly creative solutions
- Able to analyse data and issues whilst generating ideas through original thought
- Able to complete work independently with little direction
- Knowledge of the pipelines, processes and work of key development departments (Animation, Code, Art, etc)
