Position Intro
Linden Lab, a pioneer in the creation of virtual worlds, has been in business since 2003 and is best known for “Second Life”, the world’s largest user-generated economy.
Primary Functions
The Technical Project Manager will help ensure that Second Life is successful in its major initiatives and projects by planning, executing, and finalizing technology projects within the constraints of budget and time. This will require defining the objectives of the project, coordinating team members’ activities, ensuring the project meets its various milestones and overseeing quality-control of the product at its various stages.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for process, planning, and tracking execution throughout project life cycles.
- Develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents.
- Identify, communicate, and monitor efforts to mitigate risks that might affect project quality and/or expectations.
- Work closely with individuals and teams to coordinate the efforts of interdependent groups toward the timely deployment of feature specific environments, ensuring that progress is not impeded.
- Work closely with individuals and teams to continually improve processes, identify and address pain points, and celebrate achievements.
- Own communications for all aspects of project delivery with internal customers, product, and other stakeholders.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to strategize and communicate project timelines while removing roadblocks for the engineering teams and anticipating potential resource conflicts.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education or work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a project management capacity- actively involved with all aspects of project development and execution.
- Strong familiarity with software development tools including ticket tracking systems (IE Jira, Basecamp, etc), team collaboration tools (Slack, Zoom, Hangouts, etc), and reporting tools.
- Experience with development in a complex large scale product that is continuously available and upgraded "on the fly".
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Good negotiation and conflict management skills.
- Strong ability to plan, manage, and complete multiple projects concurrently.
