Big Fish Games is looking for a Technical Product Manager with experience in mobile game development, technologies such as Unity 3D, Android, iOS, and Software Development Kits (SDK). The Big Fish Games SDK provides the core foundational building blocks for our games. The SDK serves as an accelerator for new game development while actively supporting our existing games with a consistent, compliant, and stable platform for mobile game development. The Technical Product Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for product and engineering teams, identifying and resolving roadblocks to ensure project deliverables are met.Responsibilities
- Serve as a team representative interfacing directly with engineering leads, product managers, and producers across engineering, game production, compliance, and data.
- Build strong relationships with partner engineering teams and technical project managers; run multiple concurrent initiatives with separate stakeholders simultaneously.
- Work closely with game teams to understand their needs and workflows to help delivery of SDK products that help accelerate game development.
- Create detailed business requirement documents, outlining technical specifications, roadmaps, objectives, milestones, and blockers, and holding regular agile road mapping sessions to drive high-profile projects from start to finish.
- Gain a deep understanding of team, business, and game needs and continuously prioritize the backlog and roadmap to drive maximum value during each release.
- Stay on top of industry trends and platform requirements to get our SDK products ahead of the curve when major requirements are set by industry players.
- Take a proactive approach to finding ways to remove blockers to move a project forward, accurately forecasting risks, mitigating exposure to accomplishing projects, and escalating when necessary.
- Regularly assist teams in story writing, backlog maintenance, prioritization, and planning. Facilitating creation and prioritization of program-level features, backlogs, and regular stand-ups.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for product and engineering teams, identifying and resolving roadblocks that could delay project deliverables.
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience as a Technical Product Manager for a software development team that diligently applied Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
- Strong knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
- Clear understanding of mobile application development practices and technologies.
- Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
- An in-depth understanding of mobile game development processes and technologies, like Unity 3D, Android, iOS, etc.
- An understanding of SDKs and APIs, and how they relate to broader ecosystems of products and services. Multi-sided product experience is a plus.
- An understanding of modern CI/CD and automation best practices.
