Technical Producer, Platform Technology
Dreamhaven is a new game publisher based in Irvine, California. At Dreamhaven, we're building a new game company based on our shared values and relentless passion for making meaningful player experiences. We’re a strong believer in games being a force for good. We are looking for an experienced Technical Producer for our Publishing team to deliver our publishing platform that includes infrastructure, technology, services, and operations that empowers Dreamhaven’s future games and other products.
What you’ll do
As the Technical Producer on the team, you'll play an instrumental role in executing the Publishing Platform roadmap to bring our games to desktop, mobile, and console platforms. You will report to the Director of Technology on the Publishing Platform team. The Publishing Platform includes critical backend services and tools for Dreamhaven’s internal game teams and external game studios. We aim to empower game teams to focus on the truly unique aspects of their games, while the publishing platform takes care of common, reusable portions. The Publishing Platform team looks to create incredible developer experiences and capabilities for Dreamhaven’s game teams working across:
- Console, mobile and PC platforms
- Game engine middleware such as Unity and Unreal engines
- 1st party such as Microsoft and Sony, and 3rd party partners such as Twitch
You will:
- Own resource planning of central engineering team, scoping, risk mitigations, game integrations, releases and cross-team coordinations to execute and deliver on the platform roadmap
- Work with a small team of central engineers, game team producers and engineers, external technology partners to prioritize development requests and integrate games into our backend
- Work closely with the Platform Product Manager to plan the platform feature roadmap
- Maintain transparency by holding regular update meetings with game teams and stakeholders, inform and escalate as necessary
- Work closely with technology partners to coordinate development and deployment, while relaying integration feedback and driving feature requests
- Manage day-to-day task management and updates for central engineering team
- Define best practices, mentor others, and improve our processes
What we need
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology and project management software such as Jira, MS Project, Trello, etc.
- Experience in general game client/server development in a production or project management capacity, including working with external technology partners
- Experience managing development between multiple software teams to deliver a cohesive offering
- Experience serving as point of contact for game and partner integrations
- Understanding of Platform as a Service (PaaS) ideas, including delivering of integration documentation and SDKs
- Ability to understand software architecture and components
- Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Knowledge working with 1st party platforms (e.g. Steam, Xbox Live, PlayStation Network) and 3rd party solutions
- Experience with internal or public stress and load tests is a plus
- Software engineering degree or background is a plus
